LA BOTTE GARDIANE & BOSABO
At La Botte Gardiane, we have always been committed to celebrating the right gesture, the nobility of materials, and the heritage of French craftsmanship. It was therefore natural for our path to cross with Bosabo, a family house with unique expertise, for a collaboration focused on authenticity.
When two Living Heritage companies meet, craftsmanship takes on its full meaning.
Heir to a family know-how since 1890, the Bosabo house makes the heart of French craftsmanship beat at the crossroads of Brittany and the Pays de la Loire. Five generations have succeeded one another to perpetuate the rare art of clogs and wooden-soled shoes. Combining artisanal precision and ecological awareness, the workshop favors local woods such as beech and linden, from sustainable forests, to create unique pieces handcrafted in short circuits.
This is the obvious meeting between their mastery of wood and our iconic leathers.

For greasy leather and waxy split leather, we recommend cleaning the leather with a damp sponge and then applying a neutral leather grease with a soft cloth. To remove any scratches, apply a small amount of shoe polish. We do not recommend using Sapo grease because to soften the leather, it breaks its fibres and thus alters its integrity. Prefer natural greases such as those you can find on our website in the section "Care and Repair".
For Camargue croupon, suede, or glitter leather, it is essential to apply a waterproofing spray before the first use to protect your shoe from liquids that could stain it. To remove dust, you can use a brush or a cloth; for stains, prefer a suede eraser. For grease stains, you can apply a dry stain remover or Sommières® clay. We advise you to test the product's behavior on an inconspicuous part of the shoe before applying it to the entire surface.
For our range of soft calfskin leather, we recommend our leather cream. This should be applied with a soft cloth.
For python-printed leather and leather with hair, it is advisable to waterproof them with a solvent-free waterproofing spray before wearing them for the first time. You can also use a comb to clean the hair.

Measuring the circumference of your calf:It is recommended to take this measurement while seated, barefoot, ensuring your foot is flat on the floor. Measure the circumference of your calf at its widest point, taking into account the height of the boot.
Measuring the height of your boot:To take this measurement, you need to be standing straight, barefoot, with your foot flat on the floor. For ease, ask a third person to measure, along the profile of your leg, the desired height starting from the floor. The maximum boot height is 3 cm below the bend of the knee, as a boot going into the bend of the knee could cause discomfort when crouching. Note that this measurement does not include the total height of the boot (including sole and heel).
Measuring the instep: Regarding the instep, the simplest way is to determine if you have noticed with other shoes that you have a thin, strong, or rather normal instep.
