Account
To create an account, simply visit the "My Account" page and enter your personal information. Orders and Payment
For closed shoes (boots, ankle boots, derbies, and loafers): we recommend taking your usual size. For women's sandals: we recommend choosing half a size larger than your usual size. For closed sandals (Caroles, Cilaos, Jérôme, Fisherman, Géronimo, and Serge): we recommend taking one size larger than your usual size. For men's sandals: we recommend choosing your usual size. If in doubt, sizing recommendations are indicated in the shoe description. If your foot has a specific characteristic (wider, narrower, high or very high instep), we offer options allowing you to adapt the shoes to your needs.
By Visa, MasterCard, Carte Bleue bank card. By check from a bank domiciled in mainland France. Wire Transfer. In the event of payment by check, it must be issued by a bank domiciled in mainland France and made payable to La Botte Gardiane. It should be sent to La Botte Gardiane, Orders Department, ZA Lallemande RN113, 30670 Aigues-Vives. Products ordered in stock are reserved for 10 days from the order date. After this period and in the absence of receipt of the corresponding check, the product(s) ordered will be returned to stock. Collection is made upon receipt of the check.
It is entirely possible to pay in installments. Two solutions are available to you:
- Payment by 3 checks (one cashed upon receipt, the second the following month, and the last the month after that).
- By credit card using Alma.
Delivery & Shipping
Shipping times range from 2 working days for a pair in stock to up to 3 weeks for a pair made to order. These times may vary depending on our workshop's workload. We offer free delivery in Metropolitan France, Corsica, and Monaco, and worldwide for an additional shipping fee. We deliver internationally. As long as your country is available when selecting the delivery country, the order can be shipped. For some destinations, however, additional shipping fees and customs duties may apply.
Prices shown on the website are exclusive of tax. Taxes may be levied during customs clearance of your parcel, with the exception of customers located in the United Kingdom, for whom prices already include all taxes.
Returns, Exchanges & Refunds
To return a standard item, you have 30 clear days from the date of receipt of your order to make a request and send the product back to us. If the item is not suitable, the return costs are the responsibility of the customer. For custom-made items (non-standard items, with specific additions or modifications), in accordance with article L222-7 of the Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply. Maintenance & Repairs
For oily leathers and waxed suede, we recommend cleaning the leather with a damp sponge, then applying a neutral leather grease with a soft cloth. To remove any scratches, apply a small amount of shoe polish. We advise against using Sapo grease because, to soften the leather, it breaks its fibers and thus alters its integrity. Prefer natural greases such as those you can find on our website in the "Care and Repair" section.
For Camargue split leather, suede, or glitter leather, it is essential to apply a waterproofing spray before the first use to protect your shoes from liquids that could stain them. To remove dust, you can use a brush or a cloth; for stains, prefer a suede eraser. For grease stains, you can apply a dry cleaner or Sommières® clay. We advise you to test the product's reaction on a less visible part of the shoe before applying it to the entire surface.
For our range of flexible calfskin leather, we recommend our leather cream. This should be applied with a soft cloth.
For python print leathers and hairy leathers, they should be waterproofed with a solvent-free waterproofing spray before wearing them for the first time. You can also use a comb to clean the hair.
Yes, it is entirely possible to resole your shoes. We offer several after-sales services on our website, depending on the shoe models and needs.

If you don't wear your shoes for a long time, a thin white film may appear. This comes from the leather and helps protect it. To remove it, you can wipe your shoes with a soft cloth or heat them with a hairdryer to allow the grease to re-penetrate the leather.
During the first few days of using your pair of boots or ankle boots, your heel may lift slightly inside the boot. This temporary phenomenon (approximately 10 days) is completely normal: the sole is made of different thicknesses of leather, which makes it very rigid. It takes time to "break in" the sole and soften it. After this period, the heel lift will disappear. If this heel lift is too significant, it is possible that the footwear is not suitable (size too large or instep too thin). In this case, please contact our customer service by email at info@labottegardiane.com.
It's completely normal for the shoes to feel tight, especially with our greasy leather (SUP range). This leather stretches a lot. We advise wearing them around the house at first to break them in.

Measuring your calf circumference:It is recommended to take this measurement while seated, barefoot, ensuring your foot is flat on the floor. Measure the circumference of your calf at its widest point, taking into account the height of the boot.
Measuring your boot height:To take this measurement, stand upright, barefoot, with your foot flat on the floor. For ease, ask a third person to measure the desired height from the floor on the side of your leg. The maximum boot height is 3 cm below the bend of the knee, as a boot reaching into the bend of the knee could cause discomfort when crouching. Note that this measurement does not account for the total height of the boot (including sole and heel).
Measuring your instep: Regarding your instep, the simplest way is to determine if you have noticed with other shoes whether you have a thin, high, or rather normal instep.
