How do I care for my shoes?
For oily leathers and waxed split leather, we recommend cleaning the leather with a damp sponge and then applying a colorless grease with a soft cloth. To remove any scratches, apply a small amount of shoe polish. We advise against using Sapo grease because to soften the leather, it breaks its fibers and thus alters its integrity. Prefer natural greases such as those you can find on our website in the section "Care and repair".
For Camargue croupon, suede, or glitter leathers, it is essential to apply a waterproofing spray before the first use to protect your shoe from liquids that could stain them. To remove dust, you can use a brush or a cloth; for stains, prefer a suede eraser. For greasy stains, you can apply a dry stain remover or Sommières earth®. We advise you to test the product's behavior on a less visible part of the shoe before applying it to the entire surface.
For our range of soft calf leather, we recommend our leather cream. This is applied with a soft cloth.
For python print leathers and hairy leathers, it is advisable to waterproof them with a solvent-free waterproofing spray, before wearing them for the first time. You can also use a comb to clean the hairs.
How do I take my measurements?
If you wish to order custom-made boots, we advise you to contact us at info@labottegardiane.com so that we can give you the best advice.
Measuring your calf circumference:It is recommended to take this measurement while seated, barefoot, ensuring your foot is flat on the floor. Measure the circumference of your calf at its widest point, taking into account the height of the boot.
Measuring your boot height:To take this measurement, you should stand upright, barefoot, with your foot flat on the floor. For ease, ask a third person to measure, along the profile of your leg, the desired height starting from the ground. The maximum boot height is 3 cm below the hollow of the knee, as a boot extending into the hollow of the knee could be uncomfortable when crouching. Note that this measurement does not include the total height of the boot (including sole and heel).
Measuring your instep:Regarding the instep, the simplest way is to determine if you have noticed with other shoes that you have a slender, strong, or rather normal instep.
Bonjour
