Presentation of the firm

La botte Gardiane is a small family company based in the south of France inbetween Montpellier and Nimes, nearby the Camargue (a protected swampy area where live the last wild horses of Europe.

The firm, created in 1958, is specialized in the production of shoes and in particular boots for the "gardian", riders (like cow-boy) who keep a local race of black cow (the bulls of Camargue).

Presentation of the products

All our products are entirely manufactured in our factory. Our production, that required a specific know how, is hand made by qualified and experienced employees; the production style is still very much like that of a cottage industry.

In most of our shoes, we use a very thick leather of calf produced by a famous French tanner, Degermann. This particular leather, tanned with hot vegetable fat, is very supple.

For our sandals, we use the same leather than for our boots. For the inside sole, the leather we use is exclusively tanned with vegetable (from mimosa, chestnut, oak..). this leather is chromium free, it is much better for the feet.

We Also make other kind of products that you could find in the website.
